A thought on SUVs

I just read an article about the prolificacy of big cars and the fact that even though they keep people inside safer they put people outside of the car in way more danger. Getting hit by a big car is far more lethal if you’re a person just walking around or on a bike; motorcycle, bicycle, doesn’t matter.

Here’s my proposition. I know you like big cars of course you do. I say if you feel you need to buy a Sequoia sized car then– buy a Sequoia, cause it’s narrow. Big cars can be big long and/or big wide. I say if you need space consider the big long solely.

Take the Sequoia. It like it’s lil bro the 4Runner is a sports utility vehicle through and through. It’s a car that’s about speed and handling as much as it’s about towing or soccer moming. What that combo calls for is a tall long sleek vehicle. I personally am a major fan of the Sequoia and highly recommend, it’s only like ~$100k new. Naturally w/ specs.

The issue with the wide trucks and what have you is that they make maneuvering very difficult. It’s not that super wide protruding tires are the thing that’s going to usually hit someone but as a driver you have to think of the widest point on the car and that’s the tires so routine encounters get out of hand. So does parking, right? Old cliche but god damn.

I just don’t want people to regularly die while walking around. I know it’s nutter butter. And also hybrid is legit it’s a good option for planet related things. And you get better gas mileage and that is not nothing. Less fill ups more cash in pocket.
